Regular price $340.00Vintage Ivy French Work Jacket
In the last few decades, French worker jackets have become a cool-weather staple for the fashion conscious across the world. Kamakura Shirts has revived its classic version with a nod to French Ivy: elevating the traditional silhouette with luxurious brown corduroy (8 Wales Corduroy) or blue moleskin from British fabric mill Brisbane Moss.
Brisbane Moss was founded in 1882 and is a textile manufacturer located in West Yorkshire, England. Brisbane Moss is known for producing high-quality corduroy and moleskin, representing fabrics that have stood the test of time. Drawing upon the techniques cultivated over its long history, the company creates fabrics that are relevant in the modern era.
These fabrics are exceptionally durable, and their longevity has been appreciated since ancient times. We harness the latest technology of the present day while combining traditional patterns from that era with evolved modern fabrics. The fabric features a moderate brushed texture and a soft feel, being of medium weight, making it suitable for a wide range of seasons from autumn to spring.

Great quality corduroy, and a lovely shape. A top-notch version of the ever populat chore jacket.
Beautiful material, roomy cut in the body for drape and layering.
The quality of Kamakura premium shirts is usually really high but for me, these shirts just don't finish to convince me. The first wares of this shirt felt a little rough but after two washes it improved instantly. However the fabric had frayed in many places on the pattern, something I have only experienced on this wool shirt.
This shirts are a great premium alternative to easy-care shirts. They are wrinkle-resistant and don't retain odors. On the other hand, is more difficult to remove stains than other cotton shirts so take care of them.
If you want to buy one of these shirts I recommend buying a solid pattern.

The Giza 96 shirts have a nice color to them but have lower luster than the Sea Island Cotton shirts. The advantage these shirts have is that are a great alternative to the Sea Island Cotton shirts because of their wrinkle resistance and great color. If you love the Sea Island cotton shirts but hate the wrinkles they usually have, this one is a great alternative.
I have used this shirt on many formal occasions and I enjoy the luster, design, and collar of this shirt. The only negative is that is a little more difficult to iron than other shirts but in comparison to other Sea Island Cotton shirts is not that difficult.
